Ranchi : In a chilling echo of the recent medical student case, a minor girl was gang-raped in Karkatta village, Namkum. The betrayal Trap on March 31 and This wasn’t a crime by strangers, but a betrayal by friends. Police complaint was filed on 16th April 2026.
According to the complained filed, which was lodged by victims family, An acquaintance invited the victim to his house for a “party”. On 31st March, when she arrived, only his grandmother was at home. Four friends gathered together, ate, and consumed alcohol. Once the girl consumed alcohol, after that all four suspects allegedly gang-raped her. After a night of agony, the next morning the suspects dropped the victim back at her home in Bariatu.
The girl stayed silent until the suspects tried to invite her again. She refused, confessed to her mother, and a police complaint was filed on 16th April. NAMKUM Police acted swiftly, arresting all four accused—all of whom are minors. Two are from Karkatta and two from Palandu. On Friday, they were sent to a juvenile detention centre.
